This page explains what is stored in your browser when you visit the site, what for, and for how long. It covers both cookies and local storage, since both keep information on your device.
What the site loads from elsewhere
The site loads Google Tag Manager, a Google service. When you open any page, your browser requests a container file from googletagmanager.com. Google Tag Manager is a tool for managing measurement tags: what it loads depends on what is configured in the container, and those tags can set cookies of their own and can send information about your visit to Google or to other third parties. Apart from that, the site carries no advertising and no social-network pixels, and the fonts are served from our own site. The other exceptions are the embedded videos: each shows a still picture until you press play, and only then loads from YouTube, which sets cookies of its own.

Consent
The first four entries above are either necessary for the site to work or exist to remember a choice you made yourself. Storage of that kind is exempt from the requirement to ask for prior consent under the ePrivacy Directive. Google Tag Manager is not in that category: it loads when you open a page, before you have been asked. If you would rather it did not, you can block googletagmanager.com with a content blocker or through your browser settings, and the rest of the site will work normally.
How to remove it
You can delete all of the above at any time through your browser settings, and you can block cookies in advance. Blocking them does not stop you reading the site, but it will not remember your language or your accessibility settings. The accessibility settings alone can also be reset from the accessibility menu at the top of every page.
